Integrative Psychiatry: Initial 75-Minute Comprehensive Medical + Psychiatric Evaluation

Integrative Psychiatry: Initial 75-Minute Comprehensive Medical + Psychiatric Evaluation

This is the first integrative psychiatry visit you will have with Dr. Ambardar in which she will review your full medical, psychiatric, psychosocial, and family history. An accurate medical history is important to obtain at this first visit because certain conditions such as hyper/hypothyroidism, diabetes, hypertension, and anemia (among many others), can present with psychiatric symptoms. Before this visit, please remember to complete the online Intake Forms so that we will be able to make the best use of our time. During this session, your reason(s) for seeking treatment will be discussed in depth and a full treatment plan (including medications, possible lab work, and/or psychotherapy) will be prescribed. Fee: $750

Integrative Psychiatry Follow-Up: 50-Minute Psychotherapy + Medication Management

Integrative Psychiatry Follow-Up: 50-Minute Psychotherapy + Medication Management

During this dual-purpose, customized follow-up session, we will adjust and alter your medication regimen as needed, as well as engage in intensive psychotherapy. Dr. Ambardar’s general treatment principle regarding psychotropic medications is to use the lowest effective dose of medication that successfully alleviates your mood symptoms. Regarding psychotherapy, specific treatment modalities used during sessions include psychodynamic or insight-oriented therapy, solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, inner child work, and journal therapy. One of the goals of our therapy journey together is to help you develop a stronger sense of self and a loving, self-compassionate relationship with yourself. Fee: $450

“Dr. Ambardar maintains a true professionalism and calm that is not equaled by many of her colleagues. She has a quiet, unassuming demeanor, but underneath she is intelligent, hard working, and her psychiatric evaluations of patients are well thought out, organized, and sound. Sheenie is a good person. She is honest, decent, and fun. She is well liked by the faculty and staff. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Ambardar. She would be an asset to any faculty or medical school.”

“Dr. Ambardar has tremendous insight into personal and collective trauma and the impact of ancestral trauma on a person's life. It is not often you come across a professional who has an in-depth understanding of collective trauma and its impact on an individual's life. Her work and her insights have been supportive in my own healing journey. I highly recommend anyone wanting to connect with their ancestral histories, collective trauma, and current life experiences to work with Dr. Ambardar. She is a caring professional.”
